Assessment Goals of H2 Economics
The examiner expects students to gain the following skills:

- Sound evaluation of all analysis and arguments
Examination Pattern And Curriculum of H2 Economics
H2 Economics consists of Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 contains case study questions. There will be two case study questions, with a total of 60 marks. The paper duration will be 2hrs 15 min. Paper 2 contains essay questions, consisting of 2 sections, A and B. The total marks for Paper 2 is 75, and the paper duration is 2hrs 15min.
The syllabus content has three main themes:
1. The Central Economic Problem
This theme revolves around the main problem in Economics: unlimited wants versus limited resources. Students will also learn about the different issues faced by economic agents. The main chapters will touch on scarcity as the central economic problem and the concepts and tools of economics.
2. Markets
This theme focuses on how markets deal with the central economics problems and how decisions are made by economic agents. Students will get acquainted with microeconomics and its topics. The main topics will touch on price mechanism and its applications, firms and decisions, and market failure.
3. The National and International Economy
Students will learn about the the economy on a national and international level, including the basic concepts of macroeconomics. Students will learn about issues like inflation, unemployment and revenue imbalance. The main topics will touch on the introduction to macroeconomics, its aims and policies, and globalisation and the international economy.
